San Diego Golf Academy - California Golf Academy

#1 San Diego golf tip:
When playing irons, place a tee one inch in front of the ball and make this
your focal point. You will hit amazingly crisp shots as you now hit down through
the ball with the proper descending blow. We teach this technique to all students
at America's Mind Power Golf Schools.
#2 San Diego golf tip:
Place one ball two feet past your ball and another two feet behind it; be sure
all three balls are in a straight line to the target. When you swing, be sure
your club swings toward the back ball and then directly over the front ball.
This will assist you to swing ON PLANE.
#3 San Diego golf tip:
When throwing a dart, you extend your throwing hand straight toward the target.
When shooting hoops, you extend your shooting hand straight toward the hoop.
When swinging a golf club, extend through impact with your club pointing directly
down the line...pointing straight toward your target.
#4 San Diego golf tip:
Using a "swing thought" will help you avoid thinking any negative
thoughts.
One that works extremely well is the words "GO THERE". As you start
the club back, think "GO" and as you swing through the ball and
extend toward the target, think to yourself the word "THERE". "GO
THERE" is a strong swing thought, every student at our America's
Mind Power Golf Schools works with this swing thought...and are amazed
at how it improves accuracy.
#5 San Diego golf tip:
If you struggle making the correct weight shift through impact, if you find
it "too much to think about"...try this move, all you need to
do is turn onto your right toe, with the right foot vertical…show all
your spikes on the back foot to whoever is behind you.
By finishing with your back foot on its toe, your weight will have shifted to
your front foot and you didn't even have to make it happen.
#6 San Diego golf tip:
When you look up too soon, one thing is for certain, you usually see a bad shot.
The key to rapid game improvement is the position of the head through impact.
Try to maintain eye contact with your ball position even after the ball has
become air born. The longer you can avoid raising your head and moving it forward,
the far greater result you will achieve.
#7 San Diego golf tip:
Want to know how to absolutely read the putt break…to know for sure which
way the ball will turn, and EXACTLY how much it will break?
#8 San Diego golf tip:
When chipping from around the green it's often more productive not putting
backspin on the ball, to give the ball topspin roll, choke down on the club
and play the ball off the back foot, place your hands on your front thigh...pressed
well forward.
This will shut down the face of your club and create terrific top spin roll,
making the ball run quickly toward your target…but remember...this
technique works well when the pin is quite a distance across the green, your
ball will be running strong, so speed and soft hands is important. We teach
this technique at all of our America's Mind Power Golf Schools in sunny
San Diego. We refer to it as the "ski position chip shot."
It truly is a shot saver.
